FASHOLA ,SAVE AJEGUNLE COMMUNITY NOW

I want to use this veritable medium to call on the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola(SAN) and Hon Kamal Bayewu, the chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun to come to the aid of Otor-Wharf road in Ajegunle. The fear of Otor-Wharf road is the beginning of unholy robbering attacks of commercial bus drivers and okada riders. The Otor-Wharf road has been callously abandoned by previous local government chairmen of Ajeromi-Ifelodun council claiming that the road belongs to Federal government.Several attempts have been made by Julius Berger as a construction company to fix the road ,but some highly placed persons have threaten to sue the company.

Though Julius Berger is sited besides the Otor-Wharf road, yet the road is an eyesore to the core.In every rain that drizzles in Ajegunle,Otor-Wharf road has become unmotorable while people are being ferried by brisk workers which costs #50 per person specially for the commercial motorcyclists popularly known as okada riders. The heavy duty vehicles that ply that Otor-Wharf axis have succeeded in causing unnecessary traffic hold ups while the deep potholes are nothing to write home about in all ramifications.Commercial bus drivers have suddenly increased their transport fare while passengers bear the brunt.

Ajegunle people are living in palpable fears of the police and agbero boys who take advantage of the Otor-Wharf road to extort innocent okada riders and commercial drivers. The fact remains that many infrastructural projects have been abandoned while community newspapers have abysmally failed to project Ajegunle people positively rather singing praises of politicians in the area. Ajegunle community is battling with accomodation problems which many houses lack toilets and bathrooms while Ajeromi-Ifelodun and Ifelodun have failed to monitor these houses for effective environmental sanitation and others. Most Ajegunle roads like Opaleye,Agugu,Wilmer bridge and others are in a bad state. It is time for lagos state government to come to the aid of Ajegunle people now.
