About Earthing And Electric Cables

I have a knack for doing three important things to extension sockets before use.

One, I replace the composite cord with a more durable more qualitative one.

Two, I replace all the wires used for the internal connections.

Three, I complete the earth connections by soldering....

My belief is that persons who upload data onto the internet...and those who download or otherwise consume such data have complimentary duties...to make life better for one another.

I have gained so much knowledge from this Internet... thus propelling me to strive to give something back. For instance, if I was hitherto ignorant about an issue say, the earthing of appliances, the mass of conducting metal inside cables, or the essence of accuracy of electrical connections...and I am fortunate enough to encounter such info, I will take pains to read it in full, seek for clarifications on areas I do not understand, read more on such topic and generally seize on the opportunity to be a mini-expert on this issue.

The earth cable conducts electric current that would otherwise electrocute us to the ground....earth! Not incorporating earthing terminals in electric sockets is bad enough, pretending to do so by a whole company is a criminal offense! Ditto for the scant strands of conductor metal in cables dubiously beefed up with mere insulating rubber to make it look big!

And these socket devices have several outlets...suggesting that they "can" carry heavy electrical load!

So, my grouse is not merely in that these devices would "spoil"... but the risk of fire outbreak and electrocution they pose to unsuspecting users!

Each time a huge Nigerian market goes up in flames, it is usually due to electrical faults. That should make some sense, shouldn't it?

But the good student is that who reads further on what he hears from his lecturer....

I will resist the temptation to discontinue such posts...for the sakes of multitudes of more appreciative readers whose lives they will save!
