This Crop Of Ingrates!
How do you feel each time you render assistance to someone and rather than thank you, the fellow asks you to "keep your peace" and tells you "all thanks must be onto God and He is the only one worthy of praise"? You know the fellow's choice of words and the obtuse choice of his thanks and praises for your deeds is purposely intended as put-down.
You know he has chosen to be ungrateful for your deeds and that such lack in capability to show gratitude for good deeds done onto him has informed his choice of words.
You know that even though he so much believes in the potency of his God, his efforts to put food on his table, a roof over his ungrateful head....or cloth over his nakedness....did not stop at praying to this God!
You know you are the tangible being who gave unalloyed tangible help to him in his desperate times after he approached you for assistance.... or on your own volition after observing his pitiable state.
You know that you bent backwards as you accommodated him in your budget and soaked up whatever inconveniences he caused you during his parasitic days.
You know his God would not....and cannot...possibly descend from His heaven to come bail him out of his dire straits but can at best, use someone of his choice to go help whoever suits his whim....or so his holy book says!
You know that as such God of his allegedly mandates men to perform such good deeds to fellow men, not all men...irrespective of their religious nuances and pretences... heed his call.
You know that as the same God admonishes him to refrain from evil thoughts and deeds, he lends a deaf ear.
You know that He holds such God of his in such extreme contempt and such overt disgust that he would swear to his Oaths of office using His books but thereafter proceeds to do as he pleases!
As instructions emanating from His God compete from those of the "Devil", you know he would always take heed from this Devil which his faith tells him is in unending contest with his God!
He steals from office....
He urges those in office to steal....
He eulogises dishonesty and dishonest persons...
He trounces integrity and persons of integrity...
And yet, he is so loud and so lousy and so showy in the worship of His God....ever religious but never Godly!
He would never do his own bit when there is the need to collectively strive for a cause. He would not praise, support or encourage persons who do. He would discourage and criticize them. He would enjoy the fruits of such struggles in common with the agitators. Yet, he would employ coy ways to strip them of due recognition after their efforts yield fruits! Notwithstanding the fact that the icons of such struggles incur horrendous losses....personal comfort, finances, homes, jobs, opportunities, friends, connections....
I have been enjoying steady electricity in my house now for 5 straight days!
Aside from Mr President's "body language", the changes we now see and enjoy are ascribable to those truly noble Nigerians who have refused to keep quiet in the face of corporate tyranny by our rulers.
The social media forms a notable chunk of these sayers...
