President Jonathan Will Head Back To the Classroom - Chief Raymond Wodi

In view of the optimistic victory of Atiku Abubakar at the 13th January, 2011 Presidential Primaries of PDP; the NWC of Turaki Vanguard at an emergency meeting held at Madugu Hotels, Abuja on 11th January, 2011 constituted a seven man Victory Party Celebration Planning Committeewith Chief Raymond Wodi the Deputy National Coordinator South as Chairman.

Inaugurating the Committee the National Coordinator of Turaki Vanguard, Chief Hon. Olademiji Fabiyi stated that if Mr. Justice Ishaq Bello ruling on the case brought before him by Prof Gidado Maxwell and others to stop President Jonathan from contesting the PDP primaries is anything to go by, then President Jonathan has no reason to contest the PDP Primaries, and if he does, it will only amount to an exercise in futility as he will later be disqualified.

“Should any of the delegates decide for any reason to waste his or her vote on Jonathan such a delegate could only be termed as not knowing what to do with his or her vote? For avoidance of doubt, I am motivated by this landmark ruling cautioning PDP Leadership to respect its constitution on zoning and that the courts can intervene when a part fails to obey its constitution”, Chief Hon. Olademiji Fabiyi cautioned.

“Citing Article 7.2(c) of PDP's Constitution, Justice Bello said zoning exists in the party, and its implementation is binding on it, adding that any party which refuses to obey its statutory laws is breeding disunity in the nation and that the court could not at this time make any pronouncement on the suitability of the President or any candidate to contest in the party's primary as it was yet to be conducted”.

Besides, he said, “by virtue of Section 87 of the Electoral Act, only aspirants in the said primary could come back to court to challenge its outcome and not any member of the party”. This ruling can only be ambiguous to uninformed and desperate politicians destined for condemnation and abyss the National Coordinator stated.

He thank the Judiciary for demonstrating uncommon wisdom in an issue designed to bring our party to disrupt and disintegration and congratulated Atiku Abubakar for proving that he was a man of vision and truly well prepared to lead this country out of the woods.

Chief Raymond Wodi on behalf of the Planning Committee expressed thanks to the National Coordinator and Leadership of Turaki Vanguard for opportunity to serve the body saying that the Committee will achieve the purpose of setting it up.

An online press release by the National Director, Directorate of Media & Public Affairs of Turaki Vanguard, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka quote Chief Raymond Wodi as saying “with this development it simply means that President Jonathan will head back to the classroom where his talents will be judiciously utilized than the bad luck he has brought to the politics of Nigeriaby taking some unprincipled stands that have overheated the polity”.

Other members of the committees include Alh. Saidu Adamu the National Treasurer, Bar Henry Iyanya the National Legal Adviser, National Women Leader, Hajiya Hassana Abubakar, Alh. Zanna Galamdi the North East Zonal Coordinator, Chief Eze C Eze, the National Publicity Secretary and Chief Mrs. Oyinye Modze the National Deputy Secretary.
