His Excellency

Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan

President and Command-in-Chief

Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Presidential Villa, Aso Rock

Federal Capital, Abuja.

Your Excellency and Dear Sir,

With humility and utmost regard, we have pleasure to introduce to you, the Committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM) which is a foremost human and civil rights organization that has been in the forefront of the struggle for good governance in the life of the Nigerian State.

Sir, we are very much aware of your administration's avowed commitment to the fight against corruption and the promotion of the rule of law in all aspects of our national life in which we are partners with your government in this regard.

It is in realization of this fact and in keying into this national ethos as espoused by your administration, that the Committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM) wish to bring to your attention for urgent investigations and actions recent media reports of allegations of financial impropriety and breach of the security of the Nigeria Embassy in Venezuela and by extension National security against Ambassador Felix Oboro by one Dr. Olarotimi Ajayi.

After going through the text of the media conference addressed by Dr. Olarotimi Ajayi and the evidences adduced, the committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM) was convinced beyond all reasonable doubt and resolved to petition your office to investigate this matter with a view to recalling Ambassador Felix Oboro immediately for prosecution by the anti-graft agencies and as well dismiss from office the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olusegun Ashiru and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for complicity in fraud, undiplomatic behavior and dereliction of duty

The allegations of fraud and breach of the country's security by Ambassador Felix Oboro in Venezuela are too weighty and thus deserves presidential intervention in view of the criminal complicity of the ministry of Foreign Affairs whose Foreign service inspectorate (FSI) investigated Ambassador Oboro in the past for financial impropriety and breach of national security, found him guilty but refused to mete out necessary sanctions and as well because of the incalculable damage it has done to Nigeria's image which your administration is trying relentlessly to correct.

Sir, as you know, one of our slogans in the human right community is that “injustice to one, is injustice to all” and thus we are being compelled to forward this petition out of our patriotic duty to fatherland which is supposed to override all interest. Our investigations also revealed that Dr. Olarotimi Ajayi, a career diplomat, diligent, honest and patriotic in his service to Nigeria was hounded and humiliated out of Venezuela by Ambassador Felix Oboro for being upright and refusing to wine and dine in the pool of the ambassador's corruption system.

The fundamental human and economic rights of Dr. Olarotimi Ajayi was assaulted with impunity by Ambassador Felix Oboro who has rubb**hed and continues to dent the image of Nigeria by his unpatriotic and corrupt service in Venezuela which must be stopped immediately with his recall and prosecution. The complicity of the ministry of Foreign Affairs in this show of shame is despicable and stands condemned.

Sir, we urge you to use your good office to call for reports of past investigations into the atrocities of Ambassador Felix Oboro who is everything unrepresentative of the Nigerian people and as well investigate him for compromising the nation's security in Venezuela which has turned Nigerians and Nigeria into butt of jokes and ridicule in Caracas and in the diplomatic circle.

Sir, we pray that the Almighty will give you the wisdom and grace to look into this matter as well as the assault of the fundamental human and economic rights of a dutiful, loyal and patriotic career diplomat, Dr. Olarotimi Ajayi so that he can get justice having faithfully served his fatherland.

Please find attached with this petition, a copy of page 46 of This Day Newspaper, Wednesday December 5 2012 edition which is one of the several media houses that reported this shame of a country against Ambassador Felix Oboro.

Please accept most wholesome, out esteemed regards,

Yours Faithfully,

Nelson Ekujumi

Executive Chairman

Solomon Ibebuchie | 12/11/2012 12:34:00 AM
Now that Human right has written to my Mr. President, with evidence, O ya Asiru and Mr. Permanent Secretary what will tell Mr. President " shameless and selfish diplomat that will will sell their profession for a mere porridge.
Jude Ezeh | 12/11/2012 12:27:00 AM
Do we have a government in Nigeria? If we do, such things should not be happening. I pray someone will act upon this matter quickly before it is swept under the carpet as usual. The government need to explain or provide answers to these serious allegations.
Akinyemi Gbemisola | 12/11/2012 11:10:00 AM
Mr. President hear your brother " I CANNOT WORK WITH YORUBA ESPECIALLY IJEBU'S. I keep wondering Oboro was sent to flush and frustration other enthic group, he did similar to his Igbo driver, if not for the intervention of the same Dr. Ajayi, The family of the igbo guy will be looking for their son now.
Koffi Matin | 12/14/2012 9:55:00 PM
Human Rights group and Nigerians should note that the campaign for 2015 presidential election has started by Ashiru,Martin and Oboro. These are the agents of corruption which should be rooted out in Nigeria. In Ghana, my country, the three of them would have been forced to resign.Thereafter, they will face anti graft agencies.
kabir Mohammed | 12/14/2012 10:02:00 PM
In the Gambia.President Yahaya Jammeh would have reacted by asking questions and then sack the corrupt three actors of no shame. The silence of the government of Nigeria shows it is powerless to fight corruption.God save Africa.
JAMES SAGBAMA | 12/22/2012 8:45:00 PM
l doubt if any nation on earth has a worsening corrupt template as Nigeria. What of the reports of stealing, misappropriation, looting of public and Embassy funds that had become so rampant in every sector of Nigerias economy. So Nigerias Ambassador in Venezuela is only an example of what corruption is in Nigeria.Very soon,he will be left off the hook and be allowed to remain not only in Venezuela but remain unprosecuted.
Chief Ndem Akpata | 12/22/2012 8:57:00 PM
Mr.James Sagbama, you are correct and you are a seer. The Punch newspaper recently came out with a report that as much as N5trillion had been stolen in two years President Jonathan has been in power. This figure may not include Prime Minister Felix Oboros looting of Embassy funds. His looting and the breach of Embassy security will be swept under the carpet but Felix Oboro has remained a stain on the image of the country. What a shame!
HON.PETER | 12/22/2012 9:03:00 PM
Corruption and blackmail ooze from Felix Okoro Oboros mouth.Who will clean it if not revolution?
CHIEF DOUGLAS NKON | 12/22/2012 9:11:00 PM
What do you expect from Felix Oboro who was jailed in Port Harcourt in the 90s for a crime well known and documented?Do you think a prisoner will behave better?Anything can happen in Nigeria. The government should remove him before punishing the Hon.Minister and the Permanent secretary who are in complicity.
Miss Janet Okoko | 12/22/2012 9:16:00 PM
Simply put, Ambassador Felix Oboro was jailed for murder and political fraud. It can only happen in Nigeria.
UZOR NJIKOKA | 12/27/2012 8:10:00 PM
Alhaji Asari Dokubo says that President Jonathan is not a bad man but there are people around him who are evil, vicious and wicked.Part of the people are Chief felix Oboro,Olugbenga Ashiru Minister of foreign Affairs and the Permanent secretary,Dr.Martin Uhmoibihi.President Jonathan must reshuffle them from his government to give the government a good image.
TORKURU JONAH | 12/27/2012 8:18:00 PM
After reading and investigating the issues mentioned in the Press statement,Minister of foreign Affairs and the Permanent secretary should take responsibility and RESIGN than to set State security officials against the complainant to cover the truth.By the way what is EFCC and ICPC doing? Are they waiting for instruction from the Presidency?
CHIKA WABARA | 12/27/2012 8:25:00 PM
The most fundamental issue is speakng the truth and the truth has been said.Let us now wait for the legal procedure that will further expose the rot and maladmistration in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Hope the three people ( OBORO, ASHIRU AND UMOIBIHI) will not use government money to bribe the judge.
Odia Peace | 12/27/2012 8:32:00 PM
Minister of foreign Affairs has been informing Nigerian lawyers not to take up the case against him because he is guilty and afraid of his diplomatic miscalculation. He is giving out money to bribe lawyers who are now smiling to the bank.Is that not Ministry of Foreign Affairs money?
Peter Edet | 12/31/2012 3:52:00 PM
Nigearia is unfortunate to have appointed a copy typist Chief felix Oboro as its ambassador.
The Ambassadorial appointment given to him was several miles above his qualifications and character. He is virtually everything an ambassador should never be.It is therefore a good news that he has been informed to return to Nigeria to enable a responsible and respectable Bayelsan be appointed.
Meanwhile, when will the Nigerian government remove his other three( minister of foreign affairs, the permanent secretary and the lady ambassador that kept official money in her private bank account in New York) conspirators?
Ambassador Oboro says he paid the minister of foreign affairs and the permanent secretary $10,000 each to protect his undiplomatic activities. Will EFCC/ ICPC investigate this revelation from Prime Minister Felix Oboro?
DOUGLSA TOMBI | 12/31/2012 4:02:00 PM
Peter,you are right.
Chief Oboro has been instructed to bid farewell to venezuela but the Minister of foreign affairs and the permanent secretary are stalling the instruction of President Jonathan because of the $10,000 given to each of them by Chief Oboro.
Nigerians are watching the body language of the minister Ashiru and the permanent secretary Martin Umoibihi who is yet to pay over time allowance and estacode allowances to officers who have made approved official trips.
David one | 12/31/2012 4:15:00 PM
The Nigerian government has through Ambassador Felix Oboro, Ambassador Ashiru and Ambassador uhmoibihi violated the United Nations Universal declaration of human Rights 1948 and African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights which have been domesticated in Nigerian laws under Cap10,of the laws of the federation of Nigeria. This is serious infraction by the three of them. They dont even respect the Nigerian laws and President Jonathan who should remove them to prevent further damages to the battered image of Nigeria.
DANLADI BELLO | 1/8/2013 8:52:00 PM
The information in circulation is that Minister Ashiru who is preparing for 2015 governorship election is dolling out dollars and Naira to some irresponsible Human rights activists and press boys to mellow down on him.One of the press boys was given N500,000 in the second week of December 2012 in Abuja. Is this how to spend looted money from foreign Affairs?
A word to the wise ain't necessary -- it's the stupid ones that need the advice.
