The leadership of National School Sports Federation has solicited for more support from top government arms, the National Sports Commission and the House Committee on Sports in the National Assembly.

Its president, Mallam Ibrahim Mohammed after a crucial meeting with the Minister of Sports and Chairman National Sports Commission Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi and his Director General, Chief Patrick Ekeji said they visited the commission to solicit for more support for school sports which remains the strongest base for grassroots sports development.

'Yes we went to the commission to introduce ourselves and solicit for the minister's support in the area of school sports development which is the strongest base for grassroots sports development. We also visited him to show appreciation for his genuine interest in the improvement and reoganisation of grassroots sports.

Our prayer is that the NSSF wants to see both the Ministry of Education and Sports work together harmoniously for the improvement of grassroots sports development in the area of equipment and retraining of discovered talented athletes.'
