The rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Dr. Mufutau Olatunde Olatinwo has been voted the rector of the Year 2012 by the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS).

Olatinwo will receive the Nigerian Outstanding Leadership Award (NOLA) award of the students' body at a ceremony to be held in Abuja soon.

The nomination of Olatinwo was ratified by the joint panel of NANS and the Global Focus International, a consultancy firm engaged by NANS for the awards.

The National President of NANS, Comrade Dauda Muhammed in a letter to Olatinwo said that the award was in recognition of his exemplary leadership qualities as well as 'conscious efforts at engendering massive and unprecedented transformation of the Federal Polytechnic Offa.'

Muhammed disclosed that the aim of the award being conferred on people by NANS, 'is to promote all forms of action of good leadership and encourage the culture of integrity in the minds of the people by rewarding particularly outstanding leaders with vision towards the uplift of Nigeria with the purpose of serving as role model for younger generation.'
