KADUNA DISBURSES N700,000 TO INDIGENT PERSONS IN KAURA LG

The Kaduna State government has disbursed N10, 000 each to 700 people in Kaura Local Government Area of the state as part of efforts towards alleviating poverty in the state

Presenting the donation, the state's Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Jonathan Kish Adamu, said the gesture was aimed at supporting the less privileged in the council. He said N7million was voted for the exercise in the council under its poverty alleviation programme for 700 people across the 10 wards in the council. The member representing Kaura in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr Yakubu Bityong, thanked the governor for fulfilling his campaign promises, calling on the beneficiaries to invest in worthwhile ventures to improve their living standards.

Chairman of the local government area, Mrs Florence Aya, said the gesture is an indication that the government means well for the people. According to her, the donation would go a long way in alleviating the hardship faced by the people.
