ANICHEBE SET TO SLOW MAN U DOWN

By NBF News

Lovers of the English Premier League (EPL) will this afternoon, be entertained with good doses of soccer when Everton's Manager, David Moyes, unleashes Nigerian international striker, Victor Anichebe, on the EPL leader, Manchester United, in a match that is very crucial to both sides.

On paper, today's match could easily be giving to the Sir Alex Ferguson-managed side due to the current form and pedigree of his charges. But in football anything can happen.

Moyes has ordered Anichebe to shoot from every cylinder to ensure that Manchester United does not carry the day by the end of hostilities. Anichebe has been scoring vital goals for Everton in the recent past. Little wonder the trust reposed in him by his coach to, if not for any other thing, to ensure he deflates the Red Devils' ego and probably, slow them down.

However, nothing would be taken away from Manchester United, as it has proved to remain the team to beat in the EPL. The team has continued to post outstanding performances year-in year-out. Even when in the early stages of the current season it looked as if its city rival, Manchester City FC was about to ride over the Sir Ferguson's side, the Red Devils came back strong in a manner nobody had expected. Man United did not only close the wide gap that existed between it and Man City, but is currently leading the Premiership table with five points to its advantage to attest to its supremacy in the EPL.

The players Sir Alex will bank on to do the damage at Old Trafford against Everton this afternoon include Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young, Dan Welbeck, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Velencia and Nani among others. Meanwhile, Ferguson will bring his experience to bear to avoid suffering another defeat after Wigan Athletic shocked his side a fortnight ago. On the other divide, Moyes, who has proved his mettle since he assumed leadership at Goodison Park, will not fold his arms and watch his side suffer defeat. He will guide his charges properly to ensure that Everton comes out of this encounter with good result.

Apart from Anichebe, Moyes will unleash Jan Mucha, Marcus Hahnemann, Phil Jagielka, Tony Hibbert, Landon Donovan, Magaye Gueye, Denis Stracqualursi, Darron Gibson and Joao Silva, among others to get a good result at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Meanwhile, West Brom and Nigerian striker, Osaze Odemwingie, has assured his fans of West Brom's superlative performance in today's encounter against Liverpool, promising to paint Anfield Red with goals this afternoon. Osaze explained that the encounter against Liverpool is very important to West Borm. Therefore, he would do everything within his powers to ensure that his team picks the vital points from the encounter, even though they would be playing away.
