U-23 PHASE 2 CAMPING: EGUAVOEN LINES UP LOCAL DUELS FOR OLYMPIC EAGLES

Officials of the National Under-23 team otherwise called the Dream Team V, have lined up four friendly games for the team as part of preparation of the team's phase two camping ahead of the Eight-nation CAF Under-23 Olympic games qualifier.

Officials have picked Wednesday and Saturday as friendly match days.

To this end, the Olympic Eagles will Wednesday, 19th October, square up with Shooting stars sports club, 3SC at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (Liberty Stadium) at 3 p.m.

The team faces Shuttle Sports International Club of Lagos by 10a.m on Saturday, 22nd October, while Westerlo Football Club, which is ran by Olympic gold medalist, Dosu Joseph, would come calling on Wednesday, 26th October and a popular Lagos side, 36 Lions, would be the team's guest on Saturday, 29th October by 10a.m.

'These games would allow us test the team, identify grey areas and see how the boys respond to our tactical discipline. We also want to test the confidence of some players during match situations as we are gradually approaching the last days of our phase two camping' said Chief Coach, Austin Eguavoen.

Meanwhile, 10 more players were at the weekend decamped by the Dream team V's chief coach.

The players include: Leke James (Julius Berger), Ebenezer Odunlani (first bank), Azubuike Egwuekwe ( Warri wolves) and Solomon Emudi.

Other are: Amusa Adewole (Wikki Tourist), Omotayo Adebogun (South Africa), Shope Hameed ( Vietnam), George Akpabio (Plateau United), Brendam Chukwudi (Rangers) and Obiozor Christian ( 3SC).

According to the Media officer of the Olympic Eagles, Arafat Aliu, there are 29 players in camp, following the arrival of Promise James and Abdulsamiu Laide both of Bukola Babes.

Still being expected as at the time of filing this report are Osas Okoro of Heartland and Theophilus Afelokai of Kano Pillars.
