DELTA LEGISLATORS FOR INDUCTION COURSE

Delta State House of  Assembly will this week, hold a four-day induction course for legislators of the recently inaugurated fifth Assembly of the state.

This is in furtherance of the House's commitment to purposeful legislation. According to a statement  by Mr Ephraim Osubor, Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Mr Victor Ochei, the programme to take place from  June 21 to June 24, 2011 in Abuja, will be declared open by the state Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, while the Senate President, David Mark, will be the special guest of honour.

According to the statement, the exercise will acquaint first term legislators with sound legislating process, for the well-being of the polity. It will also open the lawmakers to core areas, such as legislating process and the effective implementation of their oversight functions, which are central to attaining legislative excellence.

Various resource persons grounded in the subject matters to be treated, as well as members of the National Assembly from Delta State are expected to grace the occasion.
