The momentum of this year's Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) has increased tremendously with Awards nominees trying to outwit and out-vote themselves in different categories of awards.

The Nigeria Music Video Awards is an annual event that is highly anticipated as the curtain raiser in the Nigerian entertainment calendar. The event which is designed to reward creators and contributors to music videos production in Nigeria was instituted on 2nd December 2007. The 2009 edition which witnessed a live audience capacity of over 3,000 people was adjudged the best organized entertainment event in that year.

Over the years the NMVA brand has grown to become an iconic one thus earning its pride of place as the most credible, most attractive and most respected awards ceremony out of Africa! The award is reckoned with through out the length and breadth of the country. The post event broadcast is beamed to over 30 million viewers via the AIT national network, BEN television London, Silverbird television, MNET's Africa Magic Channel and a host of others. The event also enjoys extra mileage from independent entertainment programmes such as; Music Africa, Showtime Africa, Nigezie, Prime Time Africa, TEN, Artiste Zone, Views and Tunes etc. The internet voting for the 25 categories is currently generating an unprecedented frenzy as the traffic on the official website for the NMVA looks unbelievable.

Notable in this year's Award is the NMVA Best Afro-Video Music category that pitched two most popular Afro music exponents, Late Fela Anikulapokuti and Lagbaja against a fast rising and first purely Afro-Gospel Artiste in Africa in person of Israel Abiara. Abiara whose work has gotten both local and international review since the release of the “I Singi”album, looks highly delighted for the nomination in Nigeria's biggest musical video awards. He said “I bless God for the opportunity and the recognition this award nomination has accorded me and the Judah 2k band, the nomination in two categories are enough justification that our works are being appreciated by people around the globe. I appeal to you all to go online –www.livebeats.net/nmva/vote and cast your votes for Israel Abiara “YES-AMEN”video in categories (15 &12) which are Best Afro Music Video and Best Indigienous Concept respectively. I say thank you for your unflinching support,God bless you all” the Assistant Youth Pastor of CAC, Agbala-Itura, Lagos Head-Quarters averred.

Abiara's Yes-Amen video was shot by Dede Orji of PeacevIlle Productions and the song has become a popular tune amidst the Christians and non-Christians fold.
