Nigerian sprint sensation Kayinsola Ajayi delivered another outstanding performance on Saturday, claiming victory in the men's 100 metres at the London Diamond League with a blistering time of 9.84 seconds.

The 21-year-old sprinter produced a powerful finish to defeat Jamaica's reigning world champion, Oblique Seville, who crossed the line in 9.87 seconds.

Great Britain's Romell Glave completed the podium after recording 9.97 seconds in an exciting race at London's Olympic Stadium.

Ajayi's winning time matched his season's best and further strengthened his growing reputation as one of the brightest young talents in global athletics.

The Nigerian had earlier established himself as one of the favourites following an impressive season that has seen him dominate both collegiate and international competitions.

The race remained tightly contested during the opening stages, with Seville keeping pace alongside Ajayi through the first half of the sprint.

However, the Nigerian accelerated brilliantly over the closing metres to pull clear and secure a convincing victory.

Ajayi has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent years, winning multiple National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) titles and establishing himself as Nigeria's leading male sprinter.

His success in both the indoor 60 metres and outdoor 100 metres has highlighted his exceptional speed and consistency.

Saturday's victory also serves as another confidence boost ahead of future international competitions, where expectations continue to grow around the young athlete.

With another Diamond League triumph now added to his achievements, Ajayi continues to prove he belongs among the world's elite sprinters.
