Nigeria's sprint hurdling star Tobi Amusan continued her impressive run of form by claiming victory in the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League, reinforcing her status as one of the favourites for the major championships later this year.

The world record holder crossed the finish line in 12.28 seconds, matching her fastest performance of the season.

The result was enough to keep American athletes Grace Stark and Alaysha Johnson behind her after a fiercely contested race in the French capital.

Amusan did not enjoy the best start, with Dutch hurdler Nadine Visser setting the early pace. However, the Nigerian displayed her trademark speed over the closing hurdles, overtaking her rivals before comfortably pulling away to secure first place.

The victory marked another important milestone in an encouraging campaign that has seen the 28-year-old consistently deliver elite performances.

She had previously recorded the same time at the Diamond League meetings in Xiamen and Rabat, proving her form has remained remarkably consistent throughout the season.

It was also Amusan's second Diamond League triumph of the year, adding to her earlier success in Morocco.

She recently celebrated another win at the New Taipei City Athletics Open, further building confidence ahead of the Diamond League Final and the Commonwealth Games.

Having dominated the Diamond League between 2021 and 2023, Amusan appears determined to reclaim the title. With each competition, the Nigerian continues to gather momentum and send a strong message to her rivals that she is ready to challenge for more international honours.
