Harry Kane has etched his name deeper into England's football history after becoming the nation's highest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history.

The Bayern Munich striker reached the milestone during England's 2-0 victory over Panama at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, taking his tally to 11 goals in the competition.

The achievement sees him move ahead of former England captain Gary Lineker, who scored 10 World Cup goals during his international career.

Kane's latest strike also reinforces his reputation as one of England's greatest forwards. Having consistently delivered on football's biggest stage, the captain has now scored his 11 World Cup goals in just 14 appearances.

Behind Kane and Lineker on England's all-time World Cup scoring chart are 1966 World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst with five goals, while Bobby Charlton, Michael Owen and Marcus Rashford have each netted four times.

Former captain David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Roger Hunt, David Platt, Bukayo Saka and Nat Lofthouse all have three World Cup goals.

Speaking after the victory, Kane expressed pride in the achievement, describing the World Cup as the pinnacle of international football.

He said reaching 11 goals in the tournament was a special moment in his career and one he would always cherish.

With England safely through to the knockout stages, Kane will have further opportunities to extend his remarkable record as the Three Lions continue their pursuit of World Cup glory in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
