England's Intensity Makes Us Difficult to Beat at World Cup - Eze

By Okiki Oluwasegun

England midfielder Eberechi Eze believes the Three Lions are displaying the high standards expected under head coach Thomas Tuchel as they continue their pursuit of a deep run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Crystal Palace star said the squad's performances have been driven by the pace, intensity and competitive spirit associated with the Premier League.

According to him, those qualities have helped England become one of the tournament's toughest teams to face.

England began their campaign with an impressive 4-2 victory over Croatia before being held to a goalless draw by Ghana.

Despite dropping points, they remain top of Group L on goal difference and need a positive result against Panama in their final group fixture to guarantee top spot.

Reflecting on the team's style of play, Eze praised the commitment shown by his teammates, insisting they are determined to dominate matches regardless of the opposition.

"You can see the intensity, the passion and the spirit that we play with. We always try to impose ourselves, and that quality makes us a difficult team to play against," he said.

The 27-year-old also described his first World Cup appearance as a memorable moment in his career, adding that representing England at football's biggest tournament is a dream come true.

Eze admitted Ghana's defensive approach made life difficult for England but believes most teams will struggle to replicate that tactic over an entire match.

He expressed confidence that England's creative players have the quality to unlock stubborn defences as the knockout rounds approach.
