Spain Crush Saudi Arabia 4–0 in Dominant World Cup Display
Spain delivered a dominant performance as they cruised to a 4–0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Round 2 clash at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The Spanish side wasted no time asserting control, as teenage sensation Lamine Yamal opening the scoring in the 10th minute after a well-worked move involving Oyarzabal.
Spain doubled their lead in the 21st minute when Mikel Oyarzabal converted from close range following a defensive lapse from Saudi Arabia.
Just three minutes later, Oyarzabal struck again, finishing off a flowing team attack orchestrated by Dani Olmo, as Spain ran riot in the opening half.
Saudi Arabia struggled to cope with Spain’s pace and creativity, spending most of the half pinned inside their own half.
Things went from bad to worse for the Asian side in the second half when defender Hassan Tambakti turned the ball into his own net in the 49th minute, extending Spain’s lead to 4–0.
Despite multiple substitutions, Saudi Arabia failed to create any meaningful chances, managing only a few shots throughout the game.
Spain, on the other hand, dominated possession with over 65% control and registered more than 20 attempts on goal, constantly stretching the Saudi defence.
The result strengthens Spain’s position in the tournament, with their young talents continuing to shine on the world stage, while Saudi Arabia are left searching for answers after a disappointing outing.
