Nigerian forward Friday Etim has secured a return to Danish side FC Midtjylland after an impressive spell with FC Fredericia.

The 24-year-old striker has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, marking a fresh chapter in his career.

Etim originally joined Midtjylland from Portuguese club CD Mafra in 2025 but found opportunities limited during his first stint with the Danish outfit.

Seeking regular playing time, he moved to FC Fredericia during the January transfer window. The decision proved beneficial as the Nigerian quickly established himself as an important figure in the squad.

He made 14 appearances, scoring four goals and contributing an assist while helping the club enjoy a successful campaign.

His performances caught the attention of Midtjylland's management, who remained convinced of his ability despite allowing him to leave earlier in the year.

Club officials believe the striker has developed significantly over the last six months and is now ready to compete at a higher level.

Etim expressed excitement about returning to familiar surroundings and thanked FC Fredericia for helping him grow as a player. According to the striker, the experience gained from playing regularly has boosted his confidence and prepared him for the challenges ahead.

The Nigerian also revealed his ambition to compete for major honours with Midtjylland and test himself on the European stage. With the club expected to feature in continental competitions, he sees the move as an opportunity to showcase his talent against stronger opposition.

Midtjylland will hope Etim's progress continues as they strengthen their squad for the new season. The striker now faces the task of proving he can become a key figure for the Danish giants and justify the faith shown in him with his return.
