Harry Kane has expressed confidence in England’s readiness for the 2026 World Cup, saying the team’s build-up has been excellent as they settled into their base camp in Kansas City.

The England squad arrived in the United States after completing a warm-weather training camp in Florida, where they recorded friendly victories over New Zealand and Costa Rica. The performances were seen as a positive sign ahead of the tournament.

England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, head into the competition among the favourites, with expectations high after several near-misses in recent international tournaments. The focus now shifts to their opening Group L fixture against Croatia in Arlington, Texas.

Kane, who captains the side and plays for Bayern Munich, praised the quality of preparation, highlighting the team’s training intensity, unity, and recovery process.

He said the squad had benefited from both hard work on the pitch and relaxation off it, which helped build strong chemistry.

According to him, the move to Kansas City marks the point where tournament pressure begins to build, as the players prepare for what he described as the “real World Cup feeling.” He added that the squad is now fully focused on competitive action after weeks of preparation.

England also boosted confidence with a convincing 3-0 win over Costa Rica, a performance Kane described as complete and disciplined.

Looking ahead, he acknowledged Croatia as a serious challenge, recalling their strength in past tournaments and their ability to perform on the big stage.
