NWFL Playoff: Edo, Bayelsa, Nasarawa Battle for Title on Final Day

The 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six Playoff is set for a dramatic conclusion on Sunday, with three teams still in strong contention for the championship title.

Defending champions Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons remain mathematically in the race heading into the final matchday, setting up a tense finish to the season.

Edo Queens currently sit at the top of the standings with nine points, putting them in a favourable position as they edge closer to what would be only their second league title.

However, the title race remains wide open as Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons are both close behind on seven points each, ensuring a highly competitive final round.

The biggest fixture of the day will see Edo Queens face defending champions Bayelsa Queens in what is expected to be a decisive encounter.

A victory for Edo Queens would secure the title regardless of other results, while a draw could still be enough depending on the outcome of Nasarawa Amazons’ match.

Nasarawa Amazons will take on former champions Rivers Angels in another crucial fixture that could directly influence the final standings. A win for the Amazons, combined with a slip from Edo Queens, could see them crowned champions.

Earlier in the day, Abia Angels and FC Robo Queens will meet in a consolation match, as both sides look to end their campaign on a positive note after failing to challenge for the title.
