Ex-Liverpool Star Divock Origi Retires From Professional Football

Former Liverpool and Belgium forward Divock Origi has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 31, bringing an end to a career defined by iconic moments on some of football’s biggest stages.

Origi, who left AC Milan in December, confirmed that he feels fulfilled with his achievements in the game and is now ready to move on to new challenges beyond football.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, he expressed gratitude to fans, teammates, and coaches who supported him throughout his journey.

He revealed that his focus will now shift toward entrepreneurship, fashion, and philanthropy, describing it as a new chapter driven by purpose and passion.

According to him, football has given him everything he dreamed of as a child, including playing at the highest level and winning major trophies.

During his time at Liverpool, Origi became a fan favourite under former manager Jürgen Klopp, earning a reputation as a player for crucial moments.

He played a key role in the club’s famous comeback against Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League semi-final and also scored in the final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Across his eight-year spell at Anfield, he made 175 appearances and scored 41 goals, winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.

Origi’s retirement marks the end of a memorable career built on decisive goals, big-game performances, and cult hero status among supporters worldwide.
