Estevão Has Hazard-Style Talent – Gary Cahill

By Okiki Oluwasegun

Former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has tipped young Brazilian winger Estevão Willian to develop into a world-class star, comparing his style of play to club legends Eden Hazard and Arjen Robben.

Cahill believes the teenager already shows the kind of flair and unpredictability that excites supporters at Stamford Bridge, saying fans can feel the anticipation whenever he gets on the ball.

The ex-defender explained that players with the ability to change games in an instant are rare, adding that Chelsea have always benefited from wide attackers who can unlock tight defences.

He referenced former stars such as Hazard, Robben and Pedro as examples of players who regularly delivered decisive moments.

According to Cahill, Estevão fits that same profile, with the potential to become a key creative force for the club in the coming years.

He noted that the youngster’s confidence, technical ability and attacking instinct make him one of the most promising talents in world football.

Cahill also expressed excitement about the Brazilian’s future development, stating that his young age means there is still significant room for improvement.

However, he acknowledged that the player’s progress has been slowed by injury setbacks, which are part of professional football.

Estevão’s standout moment this season came in a Champions League clash against Barcelona, where he produced a brilliant solo goal after dribbling past multiple defenders.

Despite his rising reputation, his campaign was interrupted by a serious hamstring injury that ruled him out of action and affected his international hopes.
