Badminton Federation Of Nigeria Seeks New Coaches For National Teams
The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) has opened applications for coaching positions across its national teams, with the deadline set for June 30, 2026.
The federation said it is seeking qualified, experienced and result-driven coaches to take charge of the senior, junior and para-badminton national teams as part of efforts to strengthen performance and development.
Vacancies cover Head Coach, Assistant Coach I and Assistant Coach II roles, with applicants expected to possess certifications recognised by the Badminton World Federation or the Badminton Confederation of Africa, alongside relevant coaching experience at national or state level.
Additional requirements include computer literacy, strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to design training programmes and mentor athletes effectively. Candidates must also be 55 years or younger.
According to the federation, successful applicants will play key roles in talent identification, player development, competition preparation, and overall team management, including technical and tactical improvement.
They will also be responsible for maintaining training standards, promoting discipline, keeping performance records, and serving as mentors to upcoming athletes and coaches within Nigeria’s badminton structure.
The federation added that the recruitment exercise is part of broader plans to improve Nigeria’s competitiveness on the international stage while building a stronger pipeline of coaches and athletes across all categories of the sport ensuring sustained growth and professionalism in badminton across the country.
The process also aims to strengthen long-term development structures in Nigeria ensuring better results in future tournaments globally competitive.
