Anthony Joshua Reflects On Fierce Knockout Of Jake Paul
Anthony Joshua has insisted he holds no regrets over the outcome of his heavyweight clash with Jake Paul, stating that he simply carried out the task expected of him when they met in December 2025.
The British-Nigerian boxer stopped the YouTuber-turned-fighter in the sixth round of their Miami showdown, a bout that left Paul with a serious jaw injury requiring surgical intervention and titanium plates.
The defeat also marked a major setback in Paul’s boxing ambitions, with the American reportedly stepping away from the sport in the aftermath.
Speaking on the Mr Verzace Podcast, Joshua maintained that his focus was solely on delivering victory. He said he entered the fight with a clear instruction to dominate and ensure a decisive result, regardless of how long it took inside the ring.
Joshua added that the performance was part of his wider effort to re-establish himself after a difficult spell in his career, describing the fight as a turning point that helped restore confidence and public belief in his abilities.
The former unified heavyweight champion also reflected on the personal challenges that followed shortly after the bout, including a tragic road accident in Nigeria involving members of his close team.
Looking ahead, Joshua has turned his attention to upcoming challenges, with a return fight scheduled for July before a potential high-profile showdown with Tyson Fury later in the year.
Despite the setbacks and controversies surrounding his recent bouts, he says his ambition remains unchanged as he targets another run at world heavyweight glory.
