Morocco National Football Team Confirm Three Warm-up Matches Ahead Of 2026 World Cup

Morocco national football team have confirmed three friendly matches as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Atlas Lions are looking to build momentum ahead of the tournament after their historic performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals.

According to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the North Africans will begin their training camp on May 22 before facing Burundi national football team in a closed-door friendly on May 26. The match will take place at the team’s training centre in Sale.

Morocco will then take on Madagascar national football team on June 2 in Rabat. The game is expected to serve as the team’s official farewell match before travelling for the World Cup.

The Atlas Lions will wrap up their preparations with a high-profile encounter against Norway national football team on June 7 in New York City, United States.

Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi is expected to announce his final squad one week after the camping exercise begins.

Morocco head into the tournament with high expectations after their impressive rise in international football. They have been drawn in Group C alongside Brazil national football team, Scotland national football team, and Haiti national football team.

Fans will be hoping the Atlas Lions can once again produce a strong showing on football’s biggest stage.
