Transfer: Lookman eyes Galatasaray move, to reunite with Osimhen
Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman, is reportedly eager to join Turkish champions, Galatasaray, in what could be a major move for the Super Eagles star. According to Fotomac, Galatasaray’s head coach, Okan Buruk, has identified Lookman as a key target to bolster his squad ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
The potential transfer could see Lookman link up with his Nigerian teammate, Victor Osimhen, who is expected to play a significant role in convincing him to join the Turkish giants. Reports suggest that Galatasaray will first propose a loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer if the move proves successful.
Lookman, 27, had attempted to leave Atalanta during the summer transfer window, with Serie A rivals Inter Milan reportedly submitting multiple offers for his services. However, despite his transfer request and brief absence from training sessions, the move failed to materialize, forcing him to remain at Bergamo.
The former Leicester City and RB Leipzig winger has been one of Atalanta’s standout performers since joining the club, but his desire for a new challenge now appears stronger than ever. With Osimhen already a star attraction at Galatasaray, the Turkish side hopes that the pair’s partnership could dominate the Super Lig next season.
If the deal goes through, Lookman would become the latest Nigerian international to move to Turkey, following in the footsteps of players like Henry Onyekuru and Ahmed Musa. Galatasaray officials are reportedly optimistic about finalizing negotiations before the January transfer window opens.
