According to reports, AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud is close to sealing a move to MLS club side, Los Angeles FC ahead of the summer transfer window.

The French forward’s contract with Milan is set to run out this summer, and the plan is for him to sign with LAFC. Following Euro 2024, which takes place from June 14 to July 14, the 37-year-old would join LAFC when the MLS summer transfer window open on July 18.

The guaranteed part of the agreement is valid through the 2025 MLS season. Since LAFC owns Giroud’s MLS discovery rights, they can sign him before any other MLS team.

Giroud who is still playing for France leads the chart as Les Bleus’ all-time top goalscorer with 56 goals in 130 matches. He featured in the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners’ friendly match against Germany in the just concluded March international break.

With 26 Serie A appearances in the 2023/24 season, Giroud has scored 12 goals and provided eight assists.
