ITTF African Youth Championship :Mati Taiwo Inspires Team Nigeria To Gold In Tennis

The trio of Mati Taiwo, Muiz Adegoke, and Samuel Boboye have won the gold medal after victory against their Egyptian counterparts 3-1 in the U-19 boys’ team at the ongoing 2022 ITTF African Youth Championships on Saturday.

It was an impressive performance by Mati Taiwo, winning two matches to clinch the gold medal for Team Nigeria in Tunisia, sparking the rivalry between Nigeria and Egypt when it comes to Table Tennis in Africa.

Nigeria U-15 boys’ team also made it to the final in their category, but there were no matches for their counterparts from Egypt who were defeated 3-1 also in the early hours of Saturday.

Egypt made their marks on the continental stage once again, solidifying themselves as arguing the best Table Tennis playing country in Africa, winning 3 out of the 4 available medals in the teams’ event.
