Dillian Whyte Asks For A J Rematch

By Chigozie Anueyiagu, The Nigerian Voice Sports

After his loss to Tyson Fury two weekends ago and fury being adamant tostick to his retirement claims. Whyte is set to ficus on Anthony Joshua. Dillian ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte says he bumped into Anthony Joshua this week, and he thinks there’s a chance for a rematch between them after they get back to winning.

If Joshua chooses to continue his career after a second defeat at the hands of Usyk, a rematch against Whyte might make sense.

The fans would view a second Joshua-Whyte fight as a glorified old timer’s type of match-up between two washed-up British heavyweights looking to cash in.

Both guys would need to stop losing for a rematch between the struggling 32-year-old Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) and Whyte to mean anything. Joshua has lost two out of his last four fights, and Whyte has beaten in two out of his previous three contests.

British fans would be eager to see the fading Joshua and Whyte fight each other for old time’s sake, but you couldn’t sell that dreck to fans outside of the UK.

The 34-year-old Dillian posted a photo of him and Joshua’s meeting this week on his Twitter account, saying, “We both want the rematch.

One could ignore that there are more qualified contenders that Joshua could face in the heavyweight division that would help his career more than a fight against the struggling Whyte, who Tyson Fury and 40-year-old Alexander Povetkin have blown out in the last two years.

With Joshua heading into a rematch with IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Oleksander Usyk in late July, a rematch with Whyte is far from cetain..

Whyte lost to Joshua by a seventh-round knockout in 2015 in a fight that was only briefly competitive for the first two rounds.

Joshua and Whyte are coming off one-sided losses, and their careers are dumpster fires. Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) looked horrendously bad, losing to Fury in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on April 23rd.
