Ighalo Considering Super Eagles Return

Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo, is open to making a return to the Super Eagles.

The Former Watford star retired from international duty after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ighalo emerged the highest goal scorer in the competition's qualifiers and also won the top scorer award in the competition proper in Egypt.

He has revealed the reason behind his decision to quit the team while also admitting he is thinking about making a sensational return to the Super Eagles.

“I am still in contact with Gernot Rohr and Amaju Pinnick, and they congratulated me on my loan deal,” Ighalo told Brila FM.

“I am still thinking about returning to the national team, but right now I want to concentrate on my club career.

“I left the national team because of the distance between Nigeria and China, but now that I am in Manchester and just like life and in my career, you never can tell."

Ighalo recently extended his loan deal at Manchester United until January 2021.

He has scored four goals in eight appearances for the Red Devils.

Ighalo made his Super Eagles debut against Uganda in 2015, he scored 16 goals in 35 appearances for Nigeria.
