Fulham's midfielder, Dickson Etuhu, has promised to raise his game against Greece on Thursday after a less than convincing display against the rampaging Argentines last weekend.

On Saturday, Etuhu, who helped his London club reach the final of the Europa League this past season, looked lost and in distress for long periods as Lionel Messi and company peppered the Eagles back four.

“I agree that I could still up my game, but that is not to say that I didn't play well against Argentina. We were up against the best forward line in the world,” said the defensive midfielder, who celebrated his 28th birthday on the eve of the kick-off of the World Cup.

“But that game is now in the past and we need to focus on the remaining games.”
