Unconfirmed reports from Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, UAE capital, indicates that fugitive former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori has been captured in the Middle East country.

Pointblanknews.com learnt that Ibori was picked up by the International Police, Interpol on Wednesday evening.

Shortly after he escaped from the creeks of Delta State, EFCC spokesman, Femi Babafemi said the commission would liaise with the Interpol once the EFCC can confirm Ibori's location.

Although the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC could not be reached to confirm the report but sources in Dubai insisted that the former Governor who had escaped Nigeria after the EFCC commenced a hunt has been captured.

Ibori is wanted for his role in the illegal disposal of about 500 million units of Delta State-owned bank shares while he was governor of the oil rich state from 1999 to 2007.

He is expected to be transferred to England where he is facing money laundry charges alongside his sister, Christine Ibie and a long time aide Bimpe Faloye.
