Chris Iwelumo back in football at Chester

Nigeria born, Former Stoke City favourite Chris Iwelumo is back in the game at the coal face after taking up the position of Chester's assistant manager. He will be working under ex Port Vale winger Jon McCarthy at the mid-table Conference outfit. Big Chris, now 38, has recently been working in the media for Channel 5 and Signal Radio, while at Stoke's home games he

has been seen on the pitch for pre-match interviews. He did try coaching earlier this year, but didn't stay long at

Wolves after being offered a role in their Academy. His playing career took in nearly 20 moves after starting out in

Scotland and ended with a short spell at Chester. He joined Stoke from Danish outfit Aarhus in February 2000 and he would go on to score 20 goals in 52 starts and 51 sub appearances before leaving in 2004. He later played for Scotland during a career which also took in the likes of Wolves, Burnley and Watford before he hung up his boots in 2015.
