Okowa Congratulates Ibori At 58, Says He Is A Political Enigma
Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori as he turns 58 years today August 4th, 2016.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, Governor Okowa extolled the enigmatic political prowess of his former boss, astute administrator and leader of impeccable disposition.
According to Governor Okowa, the sterling contributions of Chief Ibori to the development of Delta State and Nigeria is legendary, and would remain a subject of discuss by contemporary political watchers.
Okowa said, “On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I wish to felicitate with a leader par excellence, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on the occasion of his 58th birthday on Thursday, August 4th 2016.
“My distinguished leader, that Oil producing states of the Niger Delta are enjoying 13% Derivation today is unarguably due to your indefatigable role as a champion of Resource Control and Fiscal Federalism”.
“Deltans and Nigerians cannot forget in a hurry how you laboured to build the most virile, potent and undefeatable political force in Delta State, even as your legacies still dot the nooks and crannies of the State”.
“In a life that has seen you clocked 58 years amidst your achievements in public service and political endeavours, there is great cause for you, members of your family, your many associates, protégés and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His benevolence upon you”.
“As you deservedly celebrate this birthday, it is my prayer that Almighty God continues to bless you with robust health and many more years of happiness”.
“I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 58 years of a life of outstanding contribution to humanity”.
Similarly, Okowa has felicitated with former Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Anthony Akhakon Anenih, CFR on the occasion of his 83rd birthday anniversary on 4th August, 2016.
In a congratulatory message signed by his CPS, Mr. Aniagwu, Governor Okowa extolled the leadership qualities and astute contributions of Chief Anenih to nation building.
Okowa said, “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I extend very warm felicitations to you as you turn 83 on Thursday, the 4th of August, 2016”.
“Your uncommon leadership qualities, courage, and evident faith in the peace, unity, progress, and prosperity of our dear nation have seen you remain one of Nigeria’s most highly respected political icons over the years”.
“As a founding father and former BoT Chairman of our great party the PDP, you led the party and set the pace for the party's winning streak from 1999 to date”.
“The immeasurable and invaluable contributions you have made to national development is indelible in the minds of Nigerians. Your life symbolises the assured reward for single-minded commitment to the ideals of diligence, humility, perseverance, focus and dedicated service”.
Gov. Okowa further described the Iyasele of Esan land as a patriotic Nigerian and a gentleman par excellence, a team player and above all, a God fearing Nigerian.
The Governor expressed his appreciation to Chief Anenih for having been such an amiable and able leader in the PDP and on behalf of himself, the family, the Government and people of Delta State, prayed God Almighty to guide, protect and grant him more fruitful years of contribution to nation building.
In another development, Okowa has felicitated with former Minister of Information and Chairman of the Delta State Advisory Council, Prof. Sam Ejite Oyovbaire on the occasion of his 75th birthday anniversary on Thursday 4th August, 2016.
In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Aniagwu, Governor Okowa extolled the astute contributions of the renowned Professor of Political Science towards realization of the S.M.A.R.T. Agenda of his administration as well as the development of Delta State and Nigeria in general.
Governor Okowa said he was grateful to God for giving him Prof. Oyovbaire as a “Political father”, and prayed God to grant him more wisdom as he continues to contribute to the upliftment of Delta State.
