Event - Restoration, reinvigoration and renewal of the APRM

WHAT: Media is invited to attend the side event of the APRM under the theme - RESTORATION, REINVIGORATION AND RENEWAL OF THE APRM.

WHO: Former Presidents H.E Thabo Mbeki (SA), H.E Chissano and H.E Amos Sawyer will be discussants of this critical topic.

Prof. Eddie Maloka, Chief Executive Officer of the APRM Secretariat, Dr Carlos Lopez, Executive Secretary, UNECA and H.E. Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson, African Union Commission will preside over the proceedings of the event.

BACKGROUND: The APRM in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), is organizing a Panel Discussion on the Revitalization of the APRM as a Side Event. We believe this is an opportune moment to bring to the APRM Vision and Turnaround Strategy aimed at revitalizing the APRM and restoring the Mechanism to its glory as the premier African governance framework under the current leadership of H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta, Chairperson of the Forum of Heads of State and Government Participating in the APRM (APR Forum).
