Everton Closing On Signing Of Striker Leandro Rodriguez Of Uruguay
Everton are closing in on the signing of Uruguayan striker Leandro Rodriguez from River Plate Montevideo, according to Sky sources.
Rodriguez’s coach, Juan Ramon Carrasco, was quoted over the weekend saying: “He is gone. (The) Club told me of an offer from Everton. He deserves it.”
It is understood that discussions are still taking place, and that something may happen in the coming days.
The 22-year-old has dual Italian nationality and scored nine goals in 23 games for the club last season.
The potential arrival of Rodriguez would come amid a busy week of the transfer window for Everton, with the signing of defender Ramero Funes Mori set to be completed in the next 24 hours in a deal worth £6m.
The club are also interested in signing Brazil international midfielder Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk.
