Imo Deputy Gov. Congratulates New NLC Chairman

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who is known for his labour friendly history has congratulated the newly elected Nigeria Labour Congress Chairman, Comrade Autsin Chilakpo, other new executive members and Nigeria Labour Congress for holding a successful convention.

In a release signed by his Special Assistant, Media, Uche Onwuchekwa, the number two citizen of Imo State, showered encomium on Imo Chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress for its exemplary leadership.

The Comrade Deputy Governor also commended them for conducting free, fair and credible election, which gave room for the emergence of the new leaders who are to pilot the affairs of the Labour Pressure group for the next four year tenure of office.

He however extolled the labour body for its outstanding performances in its objective engagement with Imo State government, which led to a productive harmonious and mutually beneficial relationship.

On his take on the new Chairman, he said Chilakpo is not new in labour matters especially as it relates to negotiation and rules of engagement. He believes Chilakpo will do well as his predecessor.

He also lavished praises on Dr. R.A. Anyadike for his selfless service not only to the Imo workforce but to the entire Imo people who never had to suffer untold hardship due to incessant industrial actions. He assured Anyadike that his leadership that was devoid of self centeredness will be remembered as posterity will also remember him well.

He therefore charged the new Labour Leader, Comrade Chilakpo to be courageous, put his ears on ground and be ready to open his doors whenever necessary to ensure that peace and tranquility reins without making anyone suffer.

He assured the NLC that Imo government led by Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha will support and as usual cooperate with the body to ensure that the workforce of Imo State gets their due and in return give the State their best towards achieving a sustainable socioeconomic status of collective dream.
