Gallas, Arshavin Blow For Gunners

William Gallas could miss the rest of the season while Andrei Arshavin is set to be sidelined for up to three weeks after the pair picked up calf injuries in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League.

Gallas, who had missed the Gunners' previous eight matches with the same injury, suffered a recurrence in the first-half and was forced off.

'He pulled his calf muscle and I think it's the end of the season for him,' Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told Canal Plus after his side's quarter-final first-leg match at the Emirates Stadium.

'I do not include the World Cup. I think he will be ready for the World Cup,' added Wenger.

Arshavin was injured after 27 minutes and was replaced by Emmanuel Eboue. The Russian will definitely miss Saturday's game against Wolves and next Tuesday's second leg at the Nou Camp and is unlikely to be fit for the North London derby at Tottenham on April 14.

The Russian said on his website: 'Perhaps I won't be able to play for another two or three weeks.

'It is not a relapse of my old injury, this is a new one.'
