The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, has taken his campaign train to the South East of the country, visiting the commercial city of Aba in Abia state.

As usual, he was accompanied by the director-general of his campaign organisation, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi and the national chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun. Others who were part of the train include APC national leader, Ogbonnaya Onu, zonal coordinator of the Buhari campaign for the South East, Chris Ngige, and Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha.

The candidate paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Enyi of Aba, where he was conferred with the traditional title of Ogbuagu 1 (The lion killer) of Aba by the monarch.

In what one witness described as “a very moving ceremony”, Buhari was decorated with coral beads, given a certificate, robed in a traditional attire and red cap, and given a sword.

Thereafter, the APC standard bearer walked through some streets in Aba, and visited the popular Ariaria market as throngs of supporters lined the streets and hailed him as he moved. He even had the time to buy groundnut from a trader who beckoned on him.

Buhari will address a campaign rally as well in Aba.
