Confusion In Ekiti As Lawmakers 'Remove' Speaker

Source: pointblanknews.com

Some members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Monday morning announced the removal of the Speaker, Albert Adewale Omirin.

The 26-member assembly is dominated by All Progressives' Congress (APC).

The move is believed to have the blessings of the new governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose, who was elected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that less than 10 members of the assembly were herded into the chamber early Monday morning by armed policemen where they reportedly sacked Omirin.

Efforts to get the police react to the allegations weren't successful.
