Lamido Sanusi Gets Government Letter Confirming Him As Emir Of Kano, Installed

… As Protests Enters Day 2 Over His Appointment
SAN FRANCISCO, June 09, (THEWILL) â€' Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the controversial former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was Monday officially presented a letter by the Kano State Governor, Mr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, confirming his appointment as Emir of Kano.

The letter was presented to Sanusi at the Kano State Government House.

Just as the ceremony was ongoing, angry youths continued their protests on the streets ok Kano insisting that the deceased Emir's first son, Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero, be installed as Emir as initially recommended by the Emirs Council.

Policemen had earlier sealed off the palace of the Emir of Kano after angry youths barricaded the entrance last night.
