Columbia Aiming To Ambush Nigeria

By half time it was all over for Columbia trailing Mexico by three goals.

Technically it was all over in the first 15 minutes as the North Americans found the net in the first, fourth and 14th minute.

They would eventually win by four relegating Columbia to the bottom of Group D at the ongoing Women's U17 WCup in Costa Rica.

Today they will try and claw their way up from the bottom and to do this they must beat Nigeria.

As we know Nigeria held on to a 2-1 win over China PR despite a frenetic final 25 minutes where the Chinese were pushing heavily for the equaliser but Nigeria's goalkeeper Onyinyechukwu Okeke and back-line stayed strong.

In a delightful display of respect and sportsmanship, the Chinese team bowed to the Nigerian bench after the final whistle blew.

The West Africans should not expect such kudos from Columbia who know that another defeat will put them surely on a flight back to South America.

Meanwhile a win by the Flamingoes will help them secure one of the top spots in the Group ahead of the monster match with Mexico.
