Ibinabo Set To Expand The Board Of AGN

President of Actors Guild of Nigeria Ms. Ibinabo Fiberesima is finalisng plans to expand the Board of Trustees of the Actors Guild of Nigeria in a bid to give the association more relevance.

The AGN president is said not to be pleased with current composition of the board and wants to bring in some notable Nigerians to give the AGN BOT a National appeal.

“I have been under pressure lately from respected Nigerians and colleagues in the industry to take another look at the board of trustees of AGN as it is presently constituted and expand it in a view to give it a national spread; we need to bring in notable Nigerians to add value to the Guild, this has always been my desire.

Currently almost all the members, if not all, are from one section of the country and they have been there since the inception of AGN, we need to understand that things are changing and if Government, private sector and even Nollywood must take us seriously then we need to bring in notable people to that board. I intend to propose this to the AGN BOT early in the New Year” the elegant first AGN female president said.

The AGN President also said “We see what is going on in COSON and other Associations where some members are resigning because of similar reason; we in AGN must begin to look inward. For instance, how long should the Chairman of the Board serve and how long should the members serve? What should be the composition of the board members? We leave all these to a committee I shall soon set up” Ibinabo said.

This development may not be unconnected with the AGN BOT chairman prince Ifeanyi Dike who has been in and out of hospital in India due to Kidney transplant which has hindered his performance as the AGN BOT Chairman
