Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State and Afenifere Chieftain, Prince Dayo Adeyeye has eulogised the Matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty and the Yeye Oodua of Yorubaland, Mama HID Awolowo on her 98th birthday, describing her as a “a worthy mother of the Yoruba race.”

Adeyeye said in his goodwill message to Mama HID Awolowo that her husband, Chief Obafemi Awolowo will be happy where he is that he left behind a worthy matriarch, who has remained "a Jewel of inestimable value to the entire Yoruba race and Nigeria in general."

“On behalf of myself, my family, the entire PDP members and supporters in Ekiti State, I wish our mother a most glorious 98th birthday anniversary.

“The attainment of this age by Mama is no doubt a confirmation of the grace the Almighty God has bestowed on her and it is my prayer that God in His infinite mercies will grant Mama many more years in good health.

“No doubt, Mama is a pride to us, the disciples of Baba Awolowo and the entire Yoruba race. I have no doubt in my mind that Mama is more than a jewel to many of us and will continue to hold her in very high esteem,” Adeyeye said.
