Multiple Explosions, Sporadic Shooting Rocks Kano

SAN FRANCISCO, July 29, (THEWILL) - At least 3 explosions and sporadic gunshots Monday night rocked the Sabon-Gari area of Kano metropolis in what appears to be a terrorist attack that targeted a night relaxation and recreational centre popular for its drinks, food, snooker and table tennis.

An eyewitness said he counted at least 8 dead bodies, while several persons were wounded.

THEWILL gathered that the explosions were heard along Enugu Road and New Road, near the International Hotel.

Spokesman of the joint military task force (JTF) Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha confirmed the explosion to THEWILL, but said details would be made available to reporters “at an appropriate time.”
