Ailing President Umar Yar'Adua was flown back to Nigeria secretly at the wee hour of

today after staying out of the country for about three months for medical treatment at

King Fahd hospital in Saudi Arabia.
An ambulance was waiting at the tarmac to convey him to the presidential villa amidst tight

security. Soldiers were said to line up at the Airport road to beef up security. The state of

his health is unknown and no one is sure whether he plans to resume work.

One source said that Nigerians expect the President to attend the weekly Federal

Executive Council (FEC) meeting if he is actually fit to resume work.

'The President can not just fly into the country like that at the wee of the night after

leaving the country for about three months without a word. Nigerians deserve explanation

from him in few hours before or after the weekly FEC meeting” the source noted.

Reports said the President was flown into the country with an air ambulance and was

taken into a waiting ambulance which drove him to the Presidential Villa.

African Examiner gathered that President Yar'Adua's return is creating anxiety in the

corridors of powers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where his cabinet is divided between

those loyal to the President and that Acting President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Dr. Jonathan was empowered this month by the National Assembly as Acting President

pending the time the President returns to the country, with a letter written to the

Parliament informing them of his return to work.
