West Bromwich Albion have left out Nigerian striker, Peter Odemwingie for their English Barclays Premier League match away to Everton on Wednesday.

Manager of Albion, Steve Clarke, explained that the striker is being excused from the trip to Goodison Park for family reasons.

"Odemwingie is not in the squad for game at Everton. He hasn't trained for several days, as he looks after his wife and newborn baby," Clarke was quoted to have said.

The West Brom gaffer also said QPR can still land the 31-year-old forward provided they come up with "an acceptable price."

He blamed Odemwingie's request for a transfer on agents but believes that if the Nigerian stays beyond this transfer window then they will have to sort out their relationship.

"The ball's in QPR's court," said Clarke.
"We're entitled to ask for an acceptable price. Peter's head has been turned by some agents but if he's still with us on Friday, then different bridges have to be mended."

Though Albion have insisted they will not sell their Nigerian striker, it is reported that a £4 million bid could change that stance.

QPR have made two bids including a £3 million offer for Odemwingie, which West Brom rejected.

Rangers now have at least a day to make a third bid for Odemwingie before the winter transfer window closes on Thursday night.
