BEVERLY HILLS, April 29, (THEWILL) – The President-elect of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, has instructed all his staff, including the personnel attached directly to him, to steer clear of all dealings with the media, and leave all media affairs to his official media team.

In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday, April 29, by Directorate of Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, General Buhari aligned himself with the pronouncement of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC which had earlier expressed disagreement with the temporary barring of the African Independent Television (AIT) from covering his media affairs.

“I would like everyone to henceforth stay within his/her defined area of responsibility,” General Buhari said.

The president-elect added that his media team should be left to deal with their media colleagues, as they best knew how.

According to the statement, General Buhari was neither consulted nor informed about the AIT barring, and only became aware of the matter after the public uproar it generated.

“The time of CHANGE has come,” he said, “and we must avoid making the same mistakes that the outgoing government made.”

I am happy and at the same time thank GOD that this is democracy period in Nigeria, otherwise, many heads would have rolled in AIT and be even banned as clearly said by the President -elect or his media team as we meant to understand this morning by PAUNCH NEWSPAPER that the President had disassociated himself from the AIT ban saga story.Nevertheless an Igbo adage says that denial is never a power, therefore, whether he said it or not or people acted on his behalf and having denied it should be accepted thus. Thank God for the voice of the reasonable Nigerians who didn't waste time to remind GMB that this is not the regime of the Military any thing goes any how and I praise him for have listened to the masses and immediately withdrew his early statement and plans to ban AIT from covering the handover ceremony. Personally, I would like to once again advice GMB to be careful with people around him and their ill advice that is capable of destroying his government if not well guided. Many of them are well known in our society and he should not tag anybody, state, tribe or zone as his enemy, in respective whether they voted for him and his party or not. This is only way he can succeed and rebrand and repackage his name and character he is known in the past. Let me warn those that post all sorts of abuses to Mr. President Goodluck Jonathan and the South East and South south to deceit form such deformation of character and be constructive in their comments that will promote peace and harmony the President has just laid down for us to emulate. Let them be informed that simplicity is never weakness, therefore people should be mindful on the type of language to be used when commenting on any National issues. REMEMBER, A LAY MAN DRUMMING FOR WAR STAND THE RISK OF BEING CONSUMED BY THE WAR WHEN IT FINALLY BROKE.
