Disaster As Link Road To Okorocha's Home Collapses

Huhuonline.com understands that a major road in Orlu region, hometown of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, linking other areas including Ideato North and South of the state has collapsed due to neglect by contractors.

Although the primary cause of the disaster is not immediately known, residents claim that it was as a result of the gully erosion and other lingering ecological challenges as well as the unprofessional handling of the road projects by contractors of the Rescue Mission introduced by Governor Okorocha's administration to control dilapidated infrastructures in the state.

Residents further disclosed that the major link road collapsed at Orlu Beach, in Ugwu Mgbee area of Orlu, adding that with the collapse, the entire Ideato has been cut off from the rest of Orlu zone.

Huhuonline.com sources in the state confirmed that the road had shown signs of collapse at four different points, between Orlu and Umuchima, alleging that the State Government had done nothing to avert the impending calamity.

The Imo state government is yet to make any formal statement on the disaster, just as Huhuonline.com sources at the state Government House disclosed that the information has reached the office of the Governor who has plans to visit the scene.
