Sokoto Cool About Crude Oil Discovery, To Engage FG In Talks

SAN FRANCISCO, August 23, (THEWILL) – The Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko Thursday confirmed the discovery of crude oil in commercial quantity in the state saying, the state government would make a presentation to the federal government on how to proceed further with exploration.

According to state owned news agency, NAN, Wamakko in a chat with state house correspondents during the National Economic Council meeting inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja said his government and indigenes of the state are happy and excited following the discovery.

"Once we make the formal presentation to the Federal Government and there is fund, then we will talk to you in details…,” Wamakko stated.
